How Beege Always Achieves the Top 1% in Her Industry

March 24, 2025 By Peege

The number of self-help books out there on success and getting ahead are literally countless. And the biographies of successful people are also too numerous to count. Reading such stories and books can be helpful in providing ideas on formulating your own unique way to success. They can also be quite motivating, helping you figure out your formula.

If you do read books like those or listen to podcasts of successful people, make sure they are in the top 1% of their industry. There are a lot of people who aren’t, but talk like they are, so make sure that person has proven it before you give them your time and attention.

I would like to offer you a story of such a person I have carefully observed since 2010. This “case study” has been easy because I live with her. She’s my wife.

My beautiful Beverly has had several jobs since I’ve known her. Her specialty is outside sales, and her favorite part is cold-calling strangers, which is the last thing most of us want to do. She is a rare find, indeed!

In every job before her current one, bosses have told her (in one way or another) to slow down because they can’t keep up with her. She’s literally too good at sales and they couldn’t handle her volume.

She absolutely hates being told to slow down though, so she left those jobs in search of a company that will let her sell as much as she is able.

Since most small companies can’t handle her talent, she decided to try out a large company a year and a half ago, accepting a job in B2B sales for AT&T Wireless.

We just got back from the Bahamas because she has already achieved their coveted “Diamond Club” status, which is the highest award for people in the top one percent of the company (actually deep within that one percent – not just barely). A trip to somewhere exotic is part of earning that status and I got to go along as her “plus one.” Ahhh, the perks of being married to a corporate superstar…

Since I’ve seen how she has done this over and over firsthand, I thought it might be helpful to explain my observations to others as this could be very motivating, and also offer some potential success nuggets. You will, of course, have a different formula for your success, but here’s hers, plus her list of secret weapons. This list isn’t all-inclusive, as that would require a book of its own, but it scratches the surface and touches on the important parts.

Uses her God-given gifts

Most people focus on their weaknesses and try to turn those into strengths, but Bev focuses on her strengths and runs with them. God has given her amazing abilities and unique gifts, which she uses to their full extent, and finds people around her to help with her weaknesses.

Early to bed and early to rise

Bev is wise to prioritize sleep, and since she gets up so early, she also goes to bed early. So do I. We are fortunate enough to have circadian rhythms that sync well. Her morning routine involves devotions with me, exercise, and some time that is unproductive – on purpose – doing what is fun. This clears her mind and charges her batteries for the ultra-high energy day she is about to jump into.

Amazing work partner

She has an amazing coworker who has some of her same strengths but also different strengths that complement her weaknesses and vice versa, which exponentially multiplies both of their productivity. I call Iuliana (who also earned Diamond Club) her “work wife” because they are inseparable and the best of friends, often finishing each other’s thoughts and sentences like twins. I got to know Iuliana a lot better on this trip and found out she is even more amazing than I already thought. If I could see into the spirit world like the prophet Elisha could, I would be able to see her wings.

Phenomenal bosses

Bev’s immediate boss is her favorite ever. He truly cares about her personally and also gives her the tools and support she needs to run at her own speed instead of telling her to slow down like all her other past bosses. His boss is also very understanding and supportive. And his boss (the VP) as well. And his boss (the CEO) has the same attitude, so it’s obviously a top-down kind of thing, but also a chain of very good and qualified talent.

Bev already has great respect for authority and org charts, but it sure makes that easier when the chain is full of competent people who actually care for their employees – not just in what they say, but in what they do.

HARD work

I honestly don’t know how she does it. She starts around 6:30 AM and is in full sprint mode until around 5 PM (but sometimes later if there are fires to put out). There’s literally zero downtime in her day. She’s either talking to someone, entering info and records, meeting with her work wife, checking in with her team, etc., 99% of her day. She even does it while she’s eating lunch. Did I say I don’t know how she does it?

I surmise that she can handle it because she’s in her “flow state” at least 90% of her day. Most people have to gear up for that state, and then typically able to stay in it for about an hour max. She can maintain it for hours strung together nonstop. This is why she also is constantly commenting about how fast the days have flown by.

It helps that she is an extrovert, which makes her 20,000 words spoken every day possible. That’s a whole week’s worth of words for me. With my introverted wiring, if I were forced to speak 20,000 words on any given day, I would probably short-circuit and then need a three-day nap with some medical attention.

Loves cold-calls

How many people do you know who absolutely love cold-calling strangers? This is her favorite thing. This makes her a truly rare gem that any company would virtually kill for. AT&T truly is blessed to have her. If cloning were ethical, they would start with Bev.

Competitive

Bev wins frequent prizes she rarely opens. Sometimes there are several stacked on top of each other by the front door. I often open them for her, so it happens, and because I’m curious, and I get to keep many of them (thanks AT&T!). She also wins chunks of cash she doesn’t know the reason for, and other awards. In fact, while we were at the airport with a short layover from the Bahamas trip, she got a text that she won another $1800 bonus but had no idea how. She REALLY appreciates all the prizes and bonuses, but she is always going so fast, she doesn’t slow down enough to investigate why or where it came from. Still, she gets a dopamine boost every time they happen, so from the corporate perspective, it is certainly helping motivate her because they’re all reminders that she is remaining at the top of her game.

She also loves comparison charts that show how she ranks among the thousand or so employees in her specific division. Those motivate her more than anything because she LOVES achieving number one and she does that often.

Gracious to others

Bev is a helper and giver, so she loves helping others be better. Her teammates know this and when we were at meals with the other diamond club winners, she was constantly connecting, encouraging, praising, admiring, and being fascinated with other people in the room. Bev truly cares about people and serving them. People can sense that too, and naturally gravitate toward her.

Stays hydrated

A healthy body is about 65% water. It is an essential ingredient of every part including the brain, nerves, and muscles. Being dehydrated by even 10% affects energy, focus, thought processes, and speed. Bev drinks about a gallon a day, so all that stuff is optimized.

Constantly improving

Bev is always looking for ways to learn more, get better, and improve herself. She’s never satisfied with where she is. She is always looking for ways to upgrade herself. She also projects this on others, motivating and helping them whenever and wherever she can. I am probably the biggest benefactor of this, but I can also see this focused toward her “work wife” Iuliana, who she loves like a sister.

Leans on Mom

Bev’s mom is the best communicator I’ve ever known and loves Bev with a Christ-like love beyond what mere words can describe. When Bev is done with her 20,000 words for the day, she calls Mom who is eager and excited to help her debrief. Jan’s ability to empathize, reflect, and reply with incredible words of wisdom and affirmations is indescribably remarkable. If I had the spirit world eyesight I mentioned earlier, Jan would also have wings.

Recognizes blessings and stays humble

Bev knows her talents and gifts come from God, which keeps her humble. She could easily be full of herself with all her achievements and rare abilities, but she knows it’s not of her own creation, but is a new and unique creation of the Most High, simply using the gifts He has given her.

The right friends

You may already know the fact that you are who you hang out with most of the time, so being careful to pick the top three people you spend the most time with is vital. Since Bev spends the most time with Iuliana, her mom, and me, with two of these three people being literal angels, it’s no wonder she is as amazing as she is. Beverly also has wings, so I have the fringe benefit of literally being surrounded by angels just because I married her. I know God has assigned me heavenly guardian angels that I can’t see, but I’m one of the luckiest few who also has an earthly team I can see.

Kryptonite

I met Bev in 2010 when she walked into my gym trying to sell me on a towel service. Normally, when a salesperson walks into my business, I say, “Oh, you must’ve missed the no soliciting sign. Have a great day and good luck with your next prospect.” Then I walk them to the door and open it for them so they can quickly and easily leave.

When Bev walked in, however, all I saw was a tall, beautiful blonde, and all I felt was her incredible positive magical unicorn energy. So I forgot my script. She was Kryptonite. The rest is history. Iulianna also happens to be a tall beautiful blonde with similar energy/magical powers, so when either, and especially both of them walk into any business for a cold call, no one has a chance.

Final thoughts

You might look at these sections and comment on how “lucky” she is, but no – she is blessed! God is good and He really smiles on His girl Beverly. Bev also makes good choices in life because God has given her wisdom and discernment (which we pray for every day). These good choices make for fewer mistakes, and “snowballing” blessings from her Heavenly Father.

If you say, “I could never do that” because you find things she’s doing that you can’t do, or things in her life that you won’t, that’s OK, because you’re different. This is her formula and you will find your own formula. Hopefully, though, this will at least inspire you to do that, starting with MORE GOD because that is what everyone can have, and is the most important thing BY FAR.

As for me, besides learning so much from her, being inspired by her, and benefitting from her incredible success, she also motivates me to be a better person. Seeing her win her award in the Bahamas reminds me what a big freaking deal she is and inspires me to support her even more according to Ephesians 5:28.

So – like Iuliana, who compliments her weaknesses, I can do a better job at that myself. Since Bev is so busy all day doing what she loves, with time flying by, her nutrition could be better. Since I can’t change her, and she’s not going to put the time in to improve that, that’s my job now. The verse above instructs me to make her nutritious meals when I’m making them for myself and set them aside for her when she has time to eat them. That’s a really simple fix, and won’t even require much extra time or energy on my part. But that’s just the start…😉
